Guidelines on involving older people in social innovation development

The EU-funded project INNOVAGE has recently published a report aimed at facilitating the involvement of older users in the social innovation process.
As of the 24 September 2015 The Centre for Ageing Research and Development in Ireland (CARDI) became the Ageing Research and Development Division within the Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH). 10th November 2014, The European Commission and the Social Protection Committee
The European Commission and the Social Protection Committee released in June 2014 a joint report on 'Adequate social protection for long-term care needs in an ageing society’. The report brings together a comprehensive analysis of the challenges faced by EU countries in light of Europe’s rapid demographic ageing and suggests innovative solutions to ensure a proactive, fair and sustainable response to these challenges.

The outcomes of a qualitative study carried out in the framework of the EU-funded Home Sweet Home project have been summed up in a new publication “ICT for Ageing Well- Listen to what older persons think!”. Read more on this publication here.

The reform of pension systems is arguably one of the key challenges for social policy in Europe in the context of demographic change. In recent years, the issue has been very high on the policy agenda across all EU Member States and in Norway. While several countries have introduced pension reforms over a decade ago, the economic crisis and the ensuing debt crisis have prompted a further wave of reform. These have largely concentrated on the sustainability of public pensions and on increasing the effective retirement age, with some changes proving very controversial.
