In consultation with industry, BBSRC has developed a Technology Strategy that identifies areas of bioscience research where increased activity has the potential to impact on the success of UK companies. Through the development of the Strategy, Healthy Ageing has been highlighted as a new area where increased research investment could provide considerable social and economic gains for the UK and has
the potential to improve the ability of the UK industry, across a broad range of sectors including, pharmaceuticals, food, healthcare and insurance, to address the needs and aspirations of consumers within an ageing population.
