Overwhelming evidence that hospice care saves moneyThe article argues that there is overwhelming international evidence to indicate that investing in comprehensive hospice/palliative care services actually reduces healthcare spending for people nearing the end of life. The Government should not use the economic downturn as an excuse to renege on commitments to eliminate the regional inequity in hospice services in Ireland, Mr Murray says.
