Living Longer- Working Longer? Presentations
Northern Ireland
On Wednesday, 10th November 2010, CARDI hosted a seminar entitled ‘Living Longer, Working Longer’. It took place in conjunction with UK-based organisation The Age and Employment Network (TAEN), as part of CARDI’s ‘Older People and the Recession’ series. It explored issues such as the impact of an ageing population on Ireland’s workforce, North and South; the reasons why some people retire early and others continue working; and the urgent need for research on older people’s experiences in the workforce in light of the fact that the retirement age is set to rise.
Presentations from the speakers are available below:
Paul McGill, Strategic Research Officer, CARDI: Older workers in Ireland-Myths and Realities
Chris Ball, Chief Executive TAEN: Skills and training for an ageing workforce
