researchThe cause(s) of Parkinson’s is currently unknown. Most researchers believe that multiple factors play a contributory role in causing Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s is likely to be caused by a combination of both genetic and environmental factors. The majority of people with Parkinson’s do not have a direct family history, although 15-25 percent of people with Parkinson’s report having a relative with the condition.
