Building a Picture of Ageing in Persons with Intellectual Disability: Future Directions for Ageing Well
On Friday 9th September 2011, IDS-TILDA* launched its first major report on the lives of people with intellectual disability aged 40 years and over in Ireland as part the study's 2nd International Research Conference, which was held in Trinity College Dublin.
The report draws on findings from in-depth interviews with over 700 people with intellectual disability from across Ireland, providing the first comprehensive picture of people's lives across a range of key areas including: health, social, psychological, economic and environmental circumstances. The study is being led by Prof Mary McCarron, and funded by the Health Research Board and Department of Health and Children.
