Whitehall demonstrators demand the Government bans ageism
Help the Aged campaigners braved the rain and took to the streets of Whitehall yesterday to send a clear message to the Government that age discrimination should be outlawed.

Wearing bright yellow t-shirts spelling the message ‘Ban Ageism’, the group of ten gathered outside the Department of Health and the Department for Work and Pensions before moving on to Downing Street.
'It’s a moral outrage that age discrimination is still perfectly legal outside the workplace'
Esther Foreman, Campaigns Manager at Help the Aged, says: 'It’s a moral outrage that age discrimination is still perfectly legal in the UK outside the workplace. Our campaigners have literally delivered a message to the Government’s front door to let them know that the public won’t stand for it.
“Gordon Brown’s Government can ban age discrimination, or it can turn a blind eye and send a message to older people that they don’t deserve equal rights.'
