Sex and Intimate Relationships booklet published by PDS
The PDS has published a new booklet on sex and relationships - a little talked about but very important issue for people with Parkinson's and their partners.
Sex and Intimate Relationships is divided into four parts. The first section explores the impact of Parkinson's on the person with Parkinson's, and their partner, and how this may influence their relationship with others. The next section looks specifically at the relationship within the couple and how the many possible changes can be managed. The booklet then explores how Parkinson's can affect sexual functioning from a physical, psychological and relationship perspective. Each section provides advice and suggestions for managing and overcoming the difficulties that some people encounter, with the final section providing extra resources for help.
The booklet can be ordered for free from Sharward Services on 01473 212115 and can also be downloaded from the publications section of our website.
Most PDS resources are free of charge as we want as many people as possible to benefit from them. Our work is totally dependent on voluntary donations, so if you would like to make a contribution, it would be gratefully received. View our Donate section to find out about methods of giving.
