RTE broadcast a series of programmes last week as part of their Coming of Age series to celebrate Positive Ageing Week. Below you will find a number of links to some of this week highlights.
- The End of Ageing Professor Rose Anne Kenny looks at how and why Irish people are living longer than ever before and at the implications for our society.
- Coming of Age: Autumn Gold Documentary following a group of older athletes, with a minimum age of 70, as they train for athletics championships in Europe in the summer of 2009.
- Coming of Age: The Home This two-part documentary following the lives of the older residents of St Monica's Nursing Home in Dublin, revealing their personal stories and painting a picture of life in the home.
- Coming of Age: Ceol Gan Aois Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh presents a documentary following former musicians as they blow the dust from their instruments and prepare for a performance at the National Concert Hall.
