At a reception at the Royal Society, Research into Ageing won the Association of Medical Research Charities' ‘science communication award for a report for a non-expert audience’.

The award was sponsored by the Department of Health, and was awarded to our major gift fundraising publication, The Disconnected Mind prospectus, which explains in an accessible way the need and the science behind our flagship research project into cognitive decline.

The Disconnected Mind programme aims to find the recipe for healthy mental ageing - keeping our minds working as well in older age as when we are young.

The Disconnected Mind prospectus was praised for its user friendliness, clear writing style, the consistent use of the theme of a disconnected mind that ran through the publication, with engaging case studies and quotes that drew the reader in to the report.
