A new sensor could be a cost-effective way of elderly people measuring their own fall risk at home. More elderly people could potentially live in their homes longer thanks to a new clip-on device that predicts how likely they are to suffer a fall.  One in three Australians aged over 65 suffers a fall each year, with the medical costs associated with treating them reaching about $850 million. But a new device developed by scientists at the University of NSW (UNSW) can predict who is most likely to fall and possibly need hospital care for injuries such as hip fractures.
