NCCA: Calling All Beautiful Minds!

NCCA is seeking people between the ages of 55 and 85 to be featured in a national, photo essay exhibit showcasing women and men who are doing beautiful things with their minds without letting age be a barrier. 

The photo essay will travel to multiple cities as part of this educational campaign.

NCCA is in collaboration with Martek Biosciences, a company committed to brain health research, to help raise awareness of people who are keeping their minds beautiful, and actions that can be taken to maintain the most important organ in our bodies – the brain.

Beautiful Mind candidates who are selected will receive a $100 Visa gift cards and $50 towards the non-profit charity of their choice.

Beautiful Mind Photo Essay Exhibit Criteria: (You must submit the application form)
If you have looked at aging as an opportunity to do something extraordinarily beautiful with your mind, you are a great candidate.

Below are examples of people we are seeking: 

People who have a higher commitment to living a healthy lifestyle (e.g. someone who has excelled in maintaining a healthy diet or has created a program to help others live healthier) 
  • Have you lost a significant amount of weight by taking     healthy measures (other than surgery) and beaten the odds by keeping the weight off?
  • Have you taken healthy measures to revamp you and/or your family’s diet by making healthier food choices and cutting out vices?

People who are committed to physical health (e.g. an extreme athlete)

  • Are you 65 or older and still running marathons?  Waterskiing?
  • Do you participate in high-impact and/or high-risk sports or activities on a regular basis?
  • Have you overcome a serious illness through healthful, mind, body, spirit and nutritional methods in addition to medical treatment?
People who are committed to activities that use brain power (e.g., an academic or high-achieving game-player who displays mental capacity and wellness)
  • Are you an educator who has received accolades for your work?
  • Are you a master chess player?
  • Have you competed recently in events or competitions that have required you to use your brain power? (e.g., adult spelling bee, Sodoku competition)
People who are committed to social well-being Social interaction has been linked with mental health.  Are you someone who volunteers above and beyond the call of duty or do you consider yourself a volunteer who has taken extraordinary measures to help others?
