Communities across Ireland are being called upon to nominate nursing home residents and staff in the 2011 Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards to celebrate and acknowledge the excellence in the nursing home sector.
The closing date for the NHI Care Awards, in association with Homecare Medical Supplies, is Friday July 29th and application forms are available on www.nhicareawards.ie.
People in communities across Ireland are being encouraged to nominate both residents and staff in a total of 9 award categories. The awards pay tribute to the individuals who make nursing home life such a happy and fulfilling experience for thousands of people.
The awards will be presented by Minister for Health James Reilly at a gala ceremony in Citywest Hotel, Dublin, on November 10th, and the nine categories have been chosen to reflect not just the professionals delivering care, but also to reflect the achievements of residents, support staff, and how well a nursing home has integrated into its surrounding community.
Tadhg Daly, Nursing Homes Ireland Chief Executive Officer, says: “The awards offer people in communities across Ireland an opportunity to reward the excellence in the nursing home sector. Across the country, nursing home staff work tirelessly to ensure people living in nursing homes are living happy and fulfilled lives. The NHI Care Awards is the definitive celebration of excellence across our sector and we would encourage people to take the time to nominate those they feel should be recognised for the excellent contribution they make to the nursing home community.”
