Minister Hoctor Addresses the National Federation of Pensioners' Associations' Annual Delegate Conference
Ms Máire Hoctor TD, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children with responsibility for Older People, today (17th April 2008), addressed the National Federation of Pensioners’ Associations' Annual Delegate Conference.
The National Federation of Pensioners Associations was founded in 1976 and currently has twenty-five Pensioner Associations affiliated to it who represent a total of thirty thousand pensioners. The Federation represents pensioners from the Public Service, from Semi-state companies and from private industry.
Addressing the conference, Minister Hoctor said, “As Minister for Older People, I am committed to working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies, such as your own, to improve the quality of care for older people and to ensure that the needs of that sector of the population are comprehensively addressed.”
