People who are interested in becoming an advocate for older people who are in nursing homes in Mayo are being asked to volunteer.
An advocate befriends the older person and meets with them weekly.
The aim is to develop a trusting relationship, listen to them and represent their views and wishes.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer advocate should contact Anne Harris of the HSE at 045-988 310 or email anne.harris1@hse.ie for further information.
