Event aims to empower the elderly
Belfast's senior citizens are to come face-to-face with Northern Ireland's decision-makers at a convention aimed at empowering older people.
About 100 senior citizens will be making their voices heard on issues that affect their lives at the event.
It will be attended by Stormont ministers, assembly members and local councillors.
Organised by Belfast City Council, the event will offer a platform to talk about housing, health and transport.
Belfast Lord Mayor Jim Rodgers said: "We want to empower our older generation as so often they are the ones who feel marginalised by society and this will be an opportunity for them to make their voices heard by the people who are potentially in a position to make a difference.
"The main aim of this convention is to give people face to face opportunities with Northern Ireland's decision-makers, to discuss the issues that are important to them and to tell us what they want to see in this city, in their communities."
