Campaigners in the Republic of Ireland seeking to defend the state pension from being cut on budget day are delivering a petition to the government today.
The document has been signed by 43,533.
Finance Minister Brian Lenihan will reveal the government's budget plan for next year on Tuesday, December 7.
Patricia Conboy from the Older and Bolder group said pensioners were already facing tough times, with the loss of the Christmas pension bonus last Christmas, planned increases in carbon tax and prescription charges.
"All of this is a major concern," she said.
