In May 2009, CARDI announced the first round of successful Grants Programme applicants. The CARDI Research Grants Programme aims to promote north-south research partnerships that bring together different subject areas to look at issues affecting older people in new ways. It encourages ground-breaking studies that bring together different perspectives, sectors and disciplines across the island of Ireland in ways that can help improve the lives of our older people. It promotes the engagement of older people in the research and focuses on building the ageing research community in Ireland.
