TRIL Lecture Series: Preventing social isolation and loneliness among older people
The inaugural lecture in the TRIL Lecture Series,‘Preventing social isolation and loneliness among older people – myths and evidence’ by Prof Mima Cattan, Professor in Public Health at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne will take place Thursday 2nd September.
This seminar will start by presenting recent knowledge about loneliness in later life. It will then move on to discuss common practice and current evidence for alleviating loneliness among older people, and also highlight gaps in our understanding of loneliness and in the current evidence base. The seminar will conclude by discussing some possible future directions in loneliness research and the way older people may be supported to overcome social isolation and loneliness.
