The Demography of Ageing and Official Statistics
The Demography of Ageing and Official Statistics
The International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) biennial conference will be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 17-19 August 2011.
The Belfast conference is a satellite of the 2011 International Statistics Institute (ISI) conference which will be held in Dublin on 21-26 August 2011. The IAOS is a Branch of ISI, which was founded in 1885 and is one of the oldest international scientific associations functioning today. The IAOS itself is an international organisation that brings together producers and users of official statistics. Its objectives are to promote the understanding and advancement of official statistics and to foster the development of effective and efficient official statistical services on a global basis.
The IAOS conference in Belfast is being organised locally by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA), in association with the Centre for Ageing Research and Development in Ireland (CARDI) and Queen's University, Belfast.
Details on the conference sessions and speakers may be found in the 2011 Conference website.
