Solo theatre piece, 'forgotten', in aid of the IHF
SOLO THEATRE PIECE, 'FORGOTTEN', IN AID OF THE IHF, HUGH LANE GALLERY, 16 May, 2.00 p.m.
Forgotten is a solo piece of theatre which reveals the interconnecting stories of four people living in retirement homes and care facilities in Ireland, who range in age from 80 to 100.
The year 1943 was a curious one for this quartet: their lives have never been the same since ....
Written and performed by Pat Kinevane for Fishamble theatre company, Forgotten is at times hilarious and at times dark and challenging.
The play, staged on this occasion as part of Age & Opportunity's annual Bealtaine Festival, celebrating creativity in older people, has been performed since May 2006 in a series of special one-off performances in a variety of traditional and non-traditional spaces, and fuses European and Japanese theatrical styles.
This one-off performance will take place in the Hugh Lane Gallery, Parnell Square, Dublin 1, on Friday, 16th May at 2.00 p.m., and will be followed by a post-performance discussion.
Proceeds are being generously donated to the Irish Hospice Foundation.
Entry fee: Minimum donation of €10 is requested.
