Silver Surfers Day
Silver Surfer's Day will take place on the 21st May. Hundreds of volunteers will be in libraries across Northern Ireland to deliver fun taster sessions on the internet, e-mail, online banking, shopping and much much more.
The event, now in its seventh year, is supported by the Department of Finance and Personnel.
Hilary Dickson, the event’s Programme Manager at Business in the Community is urging anyone interested to register with their local library now. She said: “Hundreds of Silver Surfers have already booked their sessions at local libraries and places are becoming very limited. It isn’t too late to book a place, but I’d urge anyone interested to get in contact with their library right away to avoid disappointment. Silver Surfers’ Day always catches the imagination of the over-50’s and we’re delighted that so many local companies have become involved this year to provide volunteers.”
Libraries across the province are hosting Silver Surfers’ sessions on Friday 21st, as well as over 50 library branches and other locations across Northern Ireland. To book a Silver Surfers’ session contact your local library.
