Public attitudes to social care provision and the future of social care for older people in Northern Ireland
There is broad agreement about the need to reform how social care services for older people are currently funded and provided and to look at policy for the future. The Dilnot Commission report on the funding of care and support in England is attracting considerable attention and debate. But what about social care policy in Northern Ireland? What challenges and choices confront the Northern Ireland Assembly? Using data from the 2010 Northern Ireland Life and Times Survey, this seminar explores the views and aspirations of the Northern Ireland public, across a range of age groups, on current and future social care provision and looks at what people expect from policy makers.

The seminar will take place on Tuesday 22 November 2011, from 12.00pm-1.00pm at NICVA, 61 Duncairn Gardens, Belfast, followed by lunch. The seminar is free, but please book a place via email info@ark.ac.uk or telephone 028 7167 5513.
