Aim:
To provide an understanding of how to apply a palliative care approach when caring for older people.
Objectives/learning opportunities: Develop an understanding of the essential aspects of palliative care.
Explore how palliative care principles can be applied in the older person setting.
Introduce the concept of psychosocial and spiritual care within a palliative care framework.
Understand the management of physical symptoms associated with the end of life.
Target Audience: Registered nurses in all health care settings.
