New Perspectives on Evaluation in Palliative Care
This one-day event brings together experts both from outside and within the field of palliative care research to provide fresh perspectives on the evaluation of palliative care interventions.
Traditional Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) are often not feasible or suitable for evaluation in palliative care. Yet there is urgent need to subject palliative care to comprehensive and robust evaluation to improve the evidence base for palliative care provision. This event will consider alternative approaches to palliative care evaluation, including the use of qualitative designs as methods of evaluation in their own right and as a means to improve trials, mixed-methods designs, non-RCT quantitative designs and variations on the traditional RCT design, such as fast track and cluster RCTs.
The event takes place on 9th June 2010 and scheduled to run from 10.30-4.30. Please find attached booking form.
Venue: Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Glasgow
