Michelle Dunne (Art Therapist)
Within the last few decades, Art and Music therapists have developed their work with people who have life threatening illnesses and with those who are dying. Approaches are used which seek to integrate the physical, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions of their being. By offering patients the opportunity to be creative, they become something other than patients - they become expressive beings, tapping into their very core in
the midst of suffering and crisis. These therapies powerfully engage with end of life as a rite of passage, both as a means of comfort and integration and a mode of reflecting the dynamic sense of self until the very last.
