Ireland's Biggest Coffee Morning 2010: Irish Hospice

16/09/2010 - 09:00
16/09/2010 - 18:00

The Irish Hospice Foundation will host Ireland's Biggest Coffee Morning 2010 on Thursday, 16th September.

Ireland's Biggest Coffee Morning was first held in Dublin in 1993. Since then it has grown to become firmly established as the major national fundraiser in aid of hospice care.

On the designated day each September, people all over the country host coffee mornings in their homes and workplaces to raise money for hospice. The Irish Hospice Foundation coordinates the event on behalf of voluntary hospice groups nationwide. The work includes dispatching coffee (donated by Bewley's), posters and collection boxes to hospice fundraising groups all over Ireland.

Where does the money go?

With Ireland's Biggest Coffee Morning, the principle applied is that 'money raised locally, stays local'. In other words, all funds raised throughout Ireland on this day go direct to local hospice services. This event therefore gives people the opportunity to participate in a concerted effort to support their own local service.
