Improving oral health in later life

The IAH is pleased to host this half day meeting, which will appeal to health and social care professionals working with older people both in the community and in care settings as well as dental teams with an interest in this important area of elder care.
The meeting will highlight the deficit of oral health care in nursing homes and oral health issues in relation to older people living at home as well as the possibilities of restorative dentistry.
The afternoon will be chaired by Dr Alex Withnall – Associate Professor in Lifelong Learning & Health, University of Warwick, with presentations from:
Kenneth Wilson – Consultant in Special Care Dentistry, Heart of Birmingham Teaching PCT
Dr Heather Frenkel – Postgraduate Advisor in Special Care, Bristol Postgraduate Deanery
David Russell – Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, Birmingham Dental Hospital
