Government consultation meetings with older people

The Minister for Older People and Health Promotion, Áine Brady TD, will hold a series of eight consultation meetings around the country during spring 2010.

The aim is to hear at first hand the views of older people on issues that affect them. That means you!

These meetings are part of the Government's work to develop the National Positive Ageing Strategy which is a long-term plan for making Ireland a better place in which to grow older.

Venue:

The first meeting is taking place in the Middle Parish Community Centre, Grattan Street, Cork, on Thursday, March 4th from 2pm - 4.15pm

There will be a second meeting in Sligo Park Hotel, Sligo on Thursday, March 11th, from 2pm - 4pm [Contact Camilla Smyth, Sligo Leader Partnership at 071 914 1138].

A third meeting will take place in Leisureland, Salthill, Galway on Thursday, March 26th, from 2pm - 4pm [Contact Samantha Kenny, Office for Older People on 01 635 3057].

Subsequent meetings are also planned for Limerick, Wexford, Kildare, Louth and Dublin; details of these meetings are not yet available.
