EngAge '09: Strategies for an Ageing Population
Description: Within 20 years half of the adult UK population will be over 50. One in four children born today will live beyond 100. This creates an ever-increasing need for society to adapt to new challenges and opportunities. Event will include a presentation by Richard Foggie, Assistant Director, Electronics Innovation, EITSU, BERR who will discuss the following topics: - UK Government and EU policy on telehealthcare - Research and development collaborations - Actions that advance telecare and telehealth service provision - Assisted living for an ageing population - what next for technology advancement? In the second of our series of events tackling this subject EngAge 09 will home in on the local projects making a difference and turning policy into action: funding the best in social care, utilising the skills that the older population bring to their communities and meeting the pensions challenge.
