An Inclusive Digital Economy - A workshop to address the challenges of including older people within the Digital Economy. The University of Newcastle 14th 15th July 2008.  Keynote speaker: Gregg Vanderheiden.

The Digital Economy is one of four priority areas of  EPSRC which has funded a number of networks of researchers in this field.  The task of the "Inclusive Digital Economy" Network is to ensure that the Digital Economy will be truly inclusive. The first workshop will focus on those characteristics of the digital economy which present challenges paticularly in terms of the inclusion of older people.  It will map out the research landscape in the digital economy with particular relevance to inclusion of older people view to formulating priorities in the research activity in the following areas: Transport, Social Networking, Interaction techniques, Pervasive Technology, Knowledge-Based Ontologies, Social approach to Health.

Applicants for the workshop should submit a one page paper outlining their research focus and areas of interest to Paula Forbes by 20th June 2008 pforbes@computing,dundee.ac.uk20. The workshop is free, and some bursaries MAY be available to assist with travel and accommodation costs.
