Dementia Services Development Centre's 3rd International Conference

This year the theme will be "Facing the Future" and the event will focus on the whole person, multi-disciplinary and multi-dimensional research, contextualised in policy, practice and social trends.
We are delighted to announce our keynote speakers for the conference, further information on each will be included in our next e-bulletin;

We would like to invite you to be part of this conference by submitting an abstract. We are currently seeking submissions for symposia speakers, poster presenters and technology demonstrators on the subjects listed below (further detail can be found on our website www.dementia.stir.ac.uk)
- Social and cultural contexts of dementia - this theme explores how dementia is perceived, and how public policy responds to it. You may wish to share practical solutions to the problems emerging in this area
- Policy and practice in dementia care - this theme explores the latest thinking and developments in service improvement
- Non-pharmacological interventions - this theme could include worked examples of any intervention for care, including their costs and benefits
- Developing dementia research - this theme will focus on the research process and methodological innovations. We are interested in challenges presented by working in the area of dementia, as well as the outcome of studies
- Dementia, Science and Medicine - this theme will be of particular interest to Geriatricians and Psychiatrists as well as General Practitioners. We are interested in papers that address diagnosis and support, developments in drug treatments and differential diagnosis screening
