Delirium and Dementia in the General Hospital

Venue: Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Lecture Theatre A

This will focus on providing information and guidance to staff in acute care settings on delirium and dementia.  It is an integral part of the education and awareness raising response to the guidance from the Government about people with dementia in acute hospitals.  It will be particularly appropriate for doctors, allied health professionals, nursing staff and bed managers.

The event will start with coffee/tea and registration at 9am in Lecture Theatre A, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, include a lunch and conclude at 2pm.  It will be led by Professor June Andrews, Director, Dementia Services Development Centre, University of Stirling and include key contributions from:

Alex McMahon, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning, NHS Lothian

Alistair MacLullich, Professor of Geriatric Medicine, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary
 
Colin MacDonald, Dementia Nurse Consultant for Lothian
