'Brain of the Century'
'Brain of the Century' award dinner at mosimann's rasing funds to combat mental decline in later life
Help the Aged and The Brain Trust are co-hosting a gala fundraising dinner at Mosimann’s restaurant on 11th December in support of the Help the Aged ‘Disconnected Mind Appeal’ – a unique and major scientific study into the causes of mental decline, which can often lead to dementia in later life.
Tickets are now available for the exclusive fundraising dinner at this prestigious London restaurant, run by Anton Mosimann OBE. In addition to funds raised through ticket sales, there will be plenty of opportunity to support The Disconnected Mind Appeal on the night, including a live auction run by Lord Archer and a champagne and diamond raffle!
The Disconnected Mind is researching the causes of mental decline using unearthed data from the 1947 Scottish Mental Survey as a crucial benchmark by testing 1,000 members of the same group 60 years later, now all in their 70s. The goal of the study is to produce essential new understanding that will lead to medical solutions and to identify lifestyle changes that can reduce mental decline, which can often lead to dementia. Help the Aged is currently seeking the donations it needs to support the research through to its conclusion in 2015. Funds raised on the evening will also be used to support The Brain Trust small grant programme.
Date: Thursday 11th December 2008.
Time: 6.45pm for 7.00pm
Address: Mosimann’s, 11b West Halkin Street, Belgrave Square, SW1X 8JL
Ticket details: Tickets cost £250 each, or £2,500 for a table of 10
