14/07/2010 - 16:00

A forum entitled National Housing Strategy for an Ageing Population, will take place in London, July 14th. At this forum, organised by Inside Government UK, delegates will have the chance to learn and discuss with key industry experts, such as; Lord Richard Best, chairman, Innovation Panel & President, Local government assciation, who is one of the main speakers.

Context

There is growing interest in finding ways to keep older people living independently within their own homes, as the cost of care is so great. Basic home improvements could enable many older people to stay independent for longer, reducing the need for costly social or even residential care. Professionals in this industry are responsible for reforming the housing strategy in order to cope with an ageing population, by developing new technology with less funding from the public purse, with more housing availability in order to build a society for all ages.
