Ageing, Health and Quality of Life of People with Intellectual Disability: TCD

Trinity College Dublin will host "Ageing, Health and Quality of Life of People with Intellectual Disability: Preparing for Policy and Service Responses in Ireland", an International Conference on Ageing and Intellectual Disability to be held on Friday, 17th September 2010 in the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin, 24 D'Olier Street, Dublin 2.  

The event will include addresses by the Minister for Equality, Disability and Mental Health, John Moloney, T.D. and the Minister for Older People and Health Promotion, Aine Brady, T.D. 

The purpose of the conference is to bring together people who are interested in the ageing population of people with intellectual disability in Ireland. Building upon a presentation by Prof Mary McCarron of the first findings from the Intellectual Disability Supplement to The Irish Longitudinal Study of Ageing.

 

 

 
Professor Chris Bigby will present a key note address entitled: The Lived Experience of Ageing with an Intellectual Disability” and additional national and international speakers will address issues in understanding the meaning of ageing in persons with intellectual disability.
