Support for early career researchers to attend workshop
There is huge demand for workshops for early career academics run by Professor Alan Walker of the New Dynamics of Ageing (NDA) programme in Britain. They can be a launch pad for academic careers by doctoral and post-doctoral researchers.
Professor Alan Walker, Director of NDA, has offered four places to CARDI on the next workshop on Monday 5 July 2010 and we are delighted to offer bursaries to enable four people to attend.
Four early career researchers from Ireland - north and south - will now have an opportunity to benefit from this important workshop which will involve presentations by experienced researchers within gerontology and then an intense proposal writing workshop in the afternoon as well as important networking with leaders in ageing research.
This workshop is part of a pre-conference programme to the British Society of Gerontology (BSG) 2010 conference at Brunel University, London (www.bsg2010brunel.org.uk).
CARDI will provide a bursary to attend which will cover travel and subsistence and the BSG conference fees.
