CARDI and the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) - Institute of Aging are working in partnership to support up to five early career researchers to attend the Canadian Summer Program in Ageing.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in ageing research to take part in a 5 day training programme in Canada – flights, accommodation and meals covered.
Dr O’Sullivan, Director of CARDI said, ”This is a great opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge, be exposed to different perspectives, build networks, collaborations, and friendships for the future and help career development.”
SPA 2012 will have an applied focus and the hosts, the Simon Fraser University - Gerontology Research Centre, have identified ageing and technology as the key themes:
• Applied gerontology: emphasis on well-being, enablement, and social participation rather than sickness, disability and care;
• Technology development: creating and implementing real-world technology solutions for independent living;
• Ageing in a technological world: understanding technology as a social process;
• Innovative methods in applied gerontology;
• Multidisciplinary working and knowledge transfer.
